A&M-Commerce Aspiring Educators Compete at State Conference, Advance to Nationals

A&M-Commerce students representing Texas Educators Affiliate, the university's chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE), attended the TAFE Teach Tomorrow Summit in Round Rock, Texas, Feb. 8 through March 1.

Student members participated in several competitive events at the conference.

Layla WelchHaley 山 competed in the Educators Rising Moment category. Jasmin Gonzales-Salinas took part in the Interactive Bulletin Board, while Susan MaciasAllena Taylor performed well in the Children's Literature competition.

山, Gonzales-Salinas 和 Macias advanced to the national round of competition, which will be in Washington, DC, June 28-July 1. This marks the third consecutive year the chapter has qualified for nationals.

Additionally, Sachse High School senior Ashley Garcia signed a commitment to attend A&M-Commerce in the fall.
